Wednesday

Boys, take notes.

DO:Open our doors. It's the polite thing to do, and will save you the embarrassment resulting from lack of chivalry when you realize your date is standing outside her car door and you already have the vehicle in drive.
DON'T:Push our chairs in if we sit down. One, it's awkward. Two, you never push it in enough. Three, you push it in too much and we take a table-to-the-gut. Or boobs, if you're short. Neither is pleasant.
DO:Try to have something you're working toward. Have goals. Envision your future. At least make something up. When asked "What do you want to do with your life?" we do not like to hear "Well..I really like World of Warcraft.." Sorry, video games and Cheetos do not cut it.
DON'T:Call the next day and ask for a second date. A) The date went awful and we're praying no such thing ever happens to a kind soul ever again. B) We really enjoyed ourselves and are deciding if there's a possibility with the situation. In the case of the latter, make us a little nervous with anticipation. Butterflies are good.
DO:Ask us questions. Get to know us. Show some interest.
DON'T:Talk about yourself the whole time. Three little-league city championships? Born with a birthmark on your left leg? Awesome. This one time I..*rudely interrupted*..oh..never mind..?
DO:Put your best foot forward. Give us something to be attracted to. Sound intelligent, look well-kept, act attentive.
DON'T:
Make the whole obligatory walk-to-the-door scene awkward. Let's face it, no one likes this. And kissing at the door is lame. Don't do it.
DO:Initiate all first moves.
DON'T:Do it sooner than you should. Don't overstep your male obligations.
DO:Be unpredictable. Dessert before dinner, and you're a keeper.

Ah, the dating game.
'Tis life, 'tis life.

really, this all sounds so simple and great to me!! but, i guess we love boys because they mess up. i mean what else would single girls have to talk about if boys were perfect right???

I agree with all of this except not calling the next day. But that is just because I'm one of the most impatient people ever. Ha!
