[Peek at the bridal shoot here]

I constantly find myself slipping into some preconceived notion of self-diagnosed inadequacy. They say you are your biggest critic. But at the same time, I think it's important to be your biggest fan. Can't say I've mastered this; heck, I will tell you right now this is hypocrosy. Time after time, I compare myself to those around me, finding faults and flaws in things I do - wishing I could be a more creative photographer, snowboard better, draw more, dance again, look more like so-and-so. While goals are obviously important, our goals should be centered around ourselves; not others.

Again, coming from me this is 140% bogus, seeing as I am completely guilty of the said offense. But I am making a conscious effort to simply strive to make MY ____ better than the last. Whether that be a photo shoot, snowboard trip, or test score. Progress comes through improvement, not comparison. As long as we're progressing we really don't have anything to complain about, right?

My husband has a theory that when we are progressing we are happy.

When you move forward in life or accomplish even any small goal, you are happy.

How cool is that?
